Hybrid Cars Possess an Efficient Regenerative

Hybrid cars are one of the excellent fruits of the hard work done in the car industry. These cars utilise more than two distinct power sources. Some of the major power sources include gasoline, or diesel fuels, solar, and hydrogen. This primary power source is coupled with one, or more electric motors.

World is facing a lot ofmany problems due to the increased population. There is a rapid increase in the number of vehicles along the roads. This has given rise to the pollution, and problems related to the increased fuel prices. This problem is addressed by the great minds, by inventing the hybrid cars.

These cars are a revolution in the car industry due to their marvellous features. These cars are environment friendly. They contribute least to the increase in the air pollution. Air pollution is one of the major problems of the present day. Hybrid cars reduce the smog by 90 percent. Thus, the release of the pollutant is greatly reduced.

Hybrid cars are economical with respect to the fuel. World is running out of the natural fuel resources. , Soso the need of the fuel economical vehicles is greatly increased. They are fuel efficient as compare to the traditional cars. They can get up to 60 miles per gallon in the city driving as compare to the typical cars that might travel 15 to 20 miles per gallon. These cars use three times as much fuel for travelling the same distance. The hybrid cars are better than others as a hybrid car battery recharges it as you drive. You do n’tnot need to plug in. Moreover, they possess a greater speed as compare to the typical cars.

Hybrid cars possess two engines. One is the electric motor, and the other is the gasoline. When the car stops at the signals, the gasoline engine is automatically shut off and the electric motor is switched on. When more power is required, both engines work simultaneously.

Hybrid cars are based on power split technology. It is based on the gearbox. The electric motor along with the internal combustion engine provides additional power to assist the engine in accelerating, passing, or climbing. In some of the drives, where less power is required, the motor provides the only power source. Thus, the consumption of gasoline is reduced in such cases.

Hybrid cars possess an efficient regenerative braking system. When the brakes are applied, the energy is dissipated. This energy turns on the motor, which functions as the generator. Thus, the otherwise wasted energy is converted into electricity. This energy is stored in the battery, and is available for the electric motor.

Hybrid cars have firm and puffed up tires. They are filled at a higher pressure to smoothen the ride. So due to the texture, they offer a less bumpy, and comfortable ride. The texture of the tires reduce the friction, thus the life of the tire is increased. The other marvellous feature of the car is reduced air drag . For this purpose, these cars utilise the reduced frontal area, and sometimes a stream lined texture. Thus, all the above- mentioned features rank their invention a revolutionary step in the vehicle industry.

Paint Schemes or Wheel Types

Now that you have your Rat Rod, you want some ideas to set you apart from everyone else. Not just different paint schemes or wheel types. Lets go a bit more in depth in the custom areas.

Airbags – There are many myths to airbags. Too expensive, too much work to put them in, etc. The truth and reality of them is that they have come down in price considerably, and although there is some thought involved, installation is not that bad. Most Rat Rods have straight front axles, so you should leave them be, but the rear ends can be easily changed even if they have leaf or coil springs. You need to make sure that you have at least four links to the rear of your Rat Rod to keep it centered in the wheel well area. And for the most part, the airbag sits in the coil spring perch. Or you have a leaf spring rear, you can easily add one. Plumbing is straightforward. At least if can lower the rear of your Rat Rod and not the front, it will make a tremendous difference in ride and especially stance. Nothing looks better than a parked Rat Rod with it’s rear sitting on the ground. Very Cool!

Flames – You’ve seen them done many times, but what’s the right way to do them? You can go easy and weld in a spark plug in your exhaust of your Rat Rod, pump the pedal before you start, almost flooding the motor and then spark it up, wham…big flame, but temporary. Going the propane route, you can run a line into your exhaust and crack open the bottle to control your amount of flame. Be sure to use your brain as your are involving flammables with more flammables. Don’t blow up your ride!

Chopping – Roof chops is what makes a Rat Rod. Chopping them off completely is easy. Chopping and taking a couple of inches out involves some thought, and should be done by someone with some metal experience, not to mention you need to know how to weld! Depending on how much you chop out, you will lose visibility, and that in turn means drive-ability. If you are building a Rat Rod to do some bar hopping, then it really doesn’t matter. But if your intentions are to do a couple hundred miles a weekend, then strongly consider mild chops.

Take the ideas and run with them. And remember, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Let your imagination determine how cool your Rat Rod really can be.

The Neighborhood While Building Your Rat Rod

Your staring at your new Rat Rod project and are contemplating where to start. The question you should be asking yourself is do I have the tools to get the job done? Here’s a brief outline of what you will need to complete most builds.

A basic set of hand tools is essential to doing anything on your Rat Rod, so if you don’t have any, you at least need a set of wrenches and sockets. 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2″ drives and american sizes are sufficient enough. It’s nice to have metric tools, but most of the older cars are american only. A good set of screwdrivers and a couple different hammers will help.

Every good Rat Rod build will most likely require some welding. Cutting and welding after all, it what makes these vehicles “custom.” A small 110V welder is great for sheetmetal and some frame repairs. A 220V is better for heavier gauge metal, but is often larger and more expensive. For cutting, cut off tools, sawzalls, air saws, or even grinders with cut off discs. The greatest thing would be to have a plasma cutter, but they do not come too cheap, but if you have lots of cutting to do, it’s not the wrong thing to do to ask and borrow one.

An air compressor is necessary to paint, run air tools, and even blow the dust off of a job. The bigger the better, but the price will obviously determine how big you want to go. If possible, locate it in another room so not to drive yourself crazy with the noise. Be sure to have a tank large enough to run a dual action sander. They consume a lot of air and in order for you to work steadily on your Rat Rod, you need to be able to store air.

Paint guns start at $50 and go up to $600. A decent gun can run about $200. Be careful where you spray as fumes and neighbors can cause problems. The optimum thing would be to rent a spray booth. This way you can see what you are painting, and keep the piece with the neighborhood while building your Rat Rod.

What we are trying to say here is that to do most of the work on your Rat Rod, some tools are necessary. Other specialty tools are optional and in time, you will find yourself making you own specialty tools to get the job done.
